FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

What founders most often ask us. If your question is not here, email hello@sejnacapital.com.

Investing

What stage do you invest in?
Pre-seed to Series A. Our typical first cheque is US$500K to US$3M, and we reserve capital to follow on in later rounds.
Which sectors do you focus on?
AI-native companies that reduce cross-border friction in Southeast Asia: cross-border payments and fintech infrastructure, multilingual customer agents and AI commerce, and supply chain intelligence.
Do you lead rounds?
Yes. We are happy to lead or co-lead and to help assemble the rest of the round. We also join rounds led by aligned investors.
Do you only invest in Singapore companies?
No. Singapore is our base, but we invest across Southeast Asia. What matters is that the company can expand from one market into several. Many of our founders use Singapore as a regional hub for holding, banking and hiring.
What does 'AI-native' mean to you?
AI is core to how the product works and how the company scales, not a feature added later. Usually that means the company handles work that once needed people in every market, such as translation, compliance review, reconciliation or forecasting.

Process

How do I pitch Sejna Capital?
Email a short deck to pitch@sejnacapital.com or use the form on our Contact page. A warm introduction helps but is not required. We read every submission.
How long does a decision take?
We aim to give a clear yes or no within three weeks of a first meeting. If it is a no, we will tell you why.
What does your due diligence involve?
Founder conversations, customer calls, a product and technical deep-dive and a review of regulatory exposure in your target markets. We keep data requests proportionate to the stage.
Do you sign NDAs?
Like most venture firms, we do not sign NDAs at the pitch stage. We treat all materials as confidential.

After we invest

How do you support portfolio companies?
Market-entry playbooks for each ASEAN country, introductions to banks, regulators, payment rails and enterprise buyers, hiring support, and help with follow-on fundraising.
Do you take board seats?
At Seed and Series A we usually take a board seat or an observer seat. At pre-seed we normally do not.
Can you help with licensing, such as MAS or Bank Indonesia?
We are not legal advisers, but we have helped portfolio companies through payments and e-money licensing in several markets and can connect you with specialist counsel.
